Josh dedicates the song to Dan’s father, who recently passed away. At about 2:45, Dan drops his head onto his drums and cries. As soon as the song’s over, he runs offstage to embrace his mother, closely followed by Josh and Matt, leaving Chris and Max to finish the song.
This is the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever seen.

It’s beautiful
I remember standing at the front of this show, and watching Dan cry. It was honestly one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life, because it made me realise that these people I look up to so much- they’re still people. Human, just like me and everyone else, and they have to deal with pain and hurt and all that jazz just like the rest of us. It was an epiphany at 14.
